Global confectionery giant Ferrero International is progressing with an expansion of its Canadian manufacturing plant in Brantford, ON and has awarded Walters with their scope of work.
The maker of the snack spread Nutella, Tic Tacs, Kinder Surprise, as well as a range of others sweets, will be investing in new technology, including a new manufacturing process to make three additional products. This will help to add 55 new jobs in addition to the 831 existing jobs in the facility.
Walters role is to detail, supply and install approximately 1,092 tons of structural steel. We will be supplying and installing a metal deck as well. The work will be broken down into five blocks and will involve two raising gangs. Walters will be working with a very tight timeline and schedule, making the coordination of sublet detailing and fabrication a challenge.
