Walters Awarded Major Manhattan Hi-Rise

We are delighted to share that we’ve been awarded a major high-rise tower in New York City – the Manhattan West’s Northeast Tower.

Located at 401 Ninth Avenue, owner Brookfield Property Partners and construction manager Tishman Construction Corporation of New York have selected Walters and Metropolitan Walters for the supply and installation of this exciting new high-rise. We will also be working alongside architects and engineers from SOM on this project.

Brookfield’s Manhattan West development consists of 5,400,000-square feet of mixed-use space. This includes two large office towers and one residential tower, as well as a two acre public park that transects the site. The northeast office tower boasts 2,073,000 sq. ft. of rentable floor space and 1,390,000 sq. ft. of decked floor space, requiring 18,000 tons of structural steel.

We will mobilize on site in Q1 2016 for Phase 1 (Level 0 to 6, 5,400 Tons). Phase 2 (Level 7 to 71, 12,500 Tons) will be starting onsite in Q2 of 2017. The overall project is expected to be completed by mid-2019.

This will be Walters sixth major steel high-rise project in North America within the last decade.
