Walters Receives Two Awards of Excellence

The Ontario region of the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (CISC) recently held an awards ceremony in Toronto to celebrate innovation and excellence in the design and construction of steel structures by showcasing signature projects.

We are delighted to announce that Walters Group took home not one, but two distinguished Awards of Excellence in the Architecture and Engineering categories at the CISC 2015 Ontario Regional Steel Design Awards. The Award of Excellence in the Architectural category was given for our work on the Brookfield Place Pavilion, and the Award of Excellence in the Engineering category was awarded to the Queen Richmond Centre West project.

“Steel is a product you see in construction that partners with all materials. I believe we have to partner with all materials, and consultants to make sure we have an ethical and sustainable future,” said Ed Whalen, CISC president, during the ceremony. “It gives me great pride to see CISC members and associates, along with talented project teams being showcased at the regional and national level.”

We are honoured for the opportunity to collaborate on such incredible, iconic projects and are humbled by the steel industry’s acknowledgement of the daring design and engineering excellence exemplified in both of these projects.
