Walters is proud and excited to have been awarded the 2 Queen West project by PCL. This historical building on the northwest corner of the Yonge Street and Queen Street intersection is in the early stages of what will be a stunning heritage makeover that will finally reveal the entirety of its brick façade – much of which has been covered for over 50 years. Walters recently completed a structural steel Teaching Aid for Mohawk College. In January, our detailing team became involved in this unique project. And what is a structural steel teaching aid exactly? These steel sculptures are valuable teaching aids that exemplify the many methods of steel framing and their corresponding connections. Students are able to get a true visual understanding of steel framing and steel connections. Read more »
Earlier this year, Walters kicked off our Values in Action (ViA) program. One of our ViA program’s goals is to support and encourage our employees above and beyond their work duties, such as their personal involvement with charities and organizations that matter deeply to them. Read more »
Last summer, Todd Bender, CityKidz Executive Director approached Walters about a sound and lighting stage they were planning for within their new theatre design. The theatre was to be decorated in a forest and jungle theme by an interior and/or set designer when complete. Kristof Janukiewicz, our Senior BIM Modeller at Walters, met with Todd to discuss exactly what they had in mind. Read more »
