As 2016 comes to an end, we’re taking this opportunity to reflect on the year it has been for us here at Walters.
It’s been a special year of many milestones. A few of the major highlights would be celebrating our 60th year in business, and secondly, achieving and being recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies. There have been many project related successes this year as well, including numerous topping off ceremonies such as Brookfield Place Calgary, and the West Block Parliament building in Ottawa. We also received two Safety Awards that helped to stress the importance and weight we give to Health and Safety here at Walters. We’re proud to have also won many exciting projects this year, including a local project in our community – GE Power’s new 450,000-square-foot manufacturing plant in Welland, Ontario.
Over the last sixty years, what started as a little welding shop has grown into Walters Group, a business that has developed a reputation for taking on complex commercial and industrial steelwork projects throughout North America. Our work can be found in downtown cores and remote industrial sites across Canada and the United States.
To mark our special company milestone, we created a commemorative book chronicling some of the projects from our six decades of history, and stories of the early years. Every Walters employee received a copy of this anniversary book during our Christmas party. As one can imagine, a lot happens in six decades, and we are pleased to have something tangible that showcases the history that lives in the stories we share. These stories, woven together, form the fabric of the Walters Group we are today.
We humbly recognize that we would not be where we are today without the hard work and dedication of our loyal employees and clients, our construction partners, and the people who live in the communities where we work and build.
From our family to yours, we wish you a joyous holiday season and a wonderful new year.
