Last week, Walters hosted our Annual Christmas Party.
During this event, many employees come bearing gifts along with a Toonie, but most often a Twenty-dollar bill! Our Toy and Toonie Drive, in support of CityKidz, has become a yearly tradition and is very welcomed amongst our employees. Once the proceeds are tallied up during the party, Walters generously matches all of the employees donations.
This year, we were proud to present CityKidz’ Susan Morris, Manager of Fund Development, along with two CityKidz Youth members a cheque for $3,200 – and, of course, a significant amount of toys that will surely bring holiday cheer to many households in Hamilton, Ontario.
“On behalf of over 4,000 children that are impacted by these charitable donations to CityKidz, especially during our busy Christmas season, we want to say thanks.” shared Susan. “Thank you to Walters and everyone involved in the faithful, heartfelt giving of time, finances, and toys!”
Over the course of 2016, Walters employees raised over $35,000 through various fundraising efforts such as our payroll deduction program, summer BBQs, bake sales, golf tournaments, and money and toy drives. We know that the contributions our employees make to local charities in the communities where we have offices and plants, are put to good use and provide support to those that need it most.
