Community Involvement

In 1996 we contributed to the construction of the Mac Engineering Steel Construction Teaching Aid at McMaster University with other industry partners. Now in 2019 we removed it, made some modifications, and re-painted the structure. It has been relocated due to the construction of the new Gerald Hatch Centre building.

Walters Group was happy to attend an appreciation event and unveiling of the Teaching Aid at McMaster University. MES President, Melissa Cusack Striepe emceed the event. Associate Professor Lydell Wiebe spoke about the purpose of the teaching structure on behalf of Civil Engineering. Marty Verhey, Walters HR Manager, said a few words about Walters Group, our Values in Action program, and our ongoing partnership with McMaster University. Dean Ishwar Puri thanked Walters for their role in the refurbishment of the structure and our continued support of the Engineering Program.

This is another demonstration of our great partnership with McMaster University and many of Walters staff attended who are proud Mac alumni! We look forward to continuing our partnership with McMaster and hiring their very talented graduates!
