Hosted for the very first time, the Walters Plant-to-Plant Walk-Run-Ride event had participants dusting off their walking shoes, lacing up their runners, and tuning their bikes to embark on 20 kilometres of local Hamilton, ON trails.
This event was sponsored by the Walters Group Community Support Team, and was designed as a major fundraiser for our charity partners CityKidz, Rose CityKidz, and the Woodstock Salvation Army. The 43 people who were registered contributed to the fundraising in addition to participating in the event itself. The total fundraising amount for all the charity partners came to slightly over $6100.
“CityKidz is truly thankful to each of the participants who walked, ran or rode to raise funds in support of the children living in Hamilton’s low-income communities.” stated Susan Morris, Manager of Fund Development at CityKidz. “It was an absolute success! The funds raised will allow us to continue to inspire our children to dream big dreams and rise above their circumstances, and empower youth to be role models and provide opportunities to lead.”
