On May 16, 2025, Walters Group marked the completion of the dust collection ducts installation at the Algoma Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) project. This milestone represents a key achievement in our work at the EAF site.
The installation was preceded by a pre-construction study, beginning in September 2023. The focus of the study was to identify productivity improvements, especially considering the ducts’ complex, non-linear design. By analyzing the system early on, the team was able to pinpoint key efficiencies and establish a streamlined installation process. Through careful planning and coordination, the installation was completed efficiently, despite the challenges posed by Sault Ste. Marie’s winter conditions.
