On May 22, Walters Group completed the installation of all 3 arches at the Freedom Mobile Arch amphitheatre in Vancouver. This marks a key milestone in the construction of what will soon become a major outdoor venue for concerts, festivals, and large public gatherings, including planned watch parties for the 2026 FIFA World Cup!
The roof’s design was anchored by three structural steel arches converging at the peak. Walters has started preassembling the Glulam mass timber glulam arches which will be installed in a starburst pattern, supported at just three points. This intricate setup demands precise coordination between materials, with the steel frame ensuring stability for the complex timber roof.
Walters Group is proud to be supplying and installing approximately 800 tons of structural steel and installing 900 tons of timber for the Freedom Mobile Arch project alongside our valued partners at EllisDon, Revery Architecture and Fast + Epp.
