K+S Makes an Impact

Walters is proud to have been selected by IMPACT as the 2016 Project of the Year recipient in the Industrial/Rigging/Machinery Moving category for the K+S Legacy Project.

IMPACT (Ironworker Management Progressive Action Cooperative Trust) is a labor management partnership designed to provide a forum for union Ironworkers and signatory contractors to address mutual concerns and encourage reasonable balanced solutions. The primary mission of IMPACT is to expand job opportunities through progressive and innovative labor management cooperative programs.

From being successful in landing this project at the bid stage, to completing the work on site, this award topped off what was an amazing Joint Venture with Alberici and the Ironworkers from LOCAL 771 in Regina, Saskatchewan. The Walters Alberici Joint Venture created shared responsibility and resourcing for field operations, performance, communication, client experience and safety.

“This project was completed with an amazing group of people from head office, the shop, safety, supervision on site and the ironworkers doing the work.” shared Bryce Mesley, Regional Construction Manager, Walters Field Services. “These IMPACT awards are getting to be a serious event and to be chosen from dozens of entries is something to be very proud of.”
