The construction of the Barneys New York store at Scottsdale’s Camelback Mall in 2008 marked a significant expansion of the luxury retailer into the Southwest market. The 25,000-square-foot space, completed in 2009, featured a sleek, modernist design with a metallic façade, open-concept interiors, and sustainable elements such as energy-efficient systems and locally sourced materials. Developed by Camelback Commercial Group, with design by Atelier Norwood and construction by BrightBuild, the store introduced a high-end shopping experience that elevated the mall’s status and contributed to the local economy by generating over 150 construction jobs and 60 permanent positions.
Walters fabricated the monumental stair, and Metropolitan Walters completed the installation in 2009.
