The structural engineer utilized a fully model-based design approach, issuing all design documents directly through the 3D model, eliminating the need for traditional 2D drawings. Approvals were also conducted within the model, streamlining the review process. The scope included process buildings and pipe racks, supporting efficient and modern manufacturing operations.

Our Role

Dave Steel Company supplied and installed 850 tons of structural steel for Clariant’s greenfield catalyst manufacturing plant in Louisville, KY. Our scope included process buildings and pipe racks, with all steel surface-prepped to SP10 standards and coated with a sophisticated three-layer system for durability and protection. Utilizing a fully model-based design approach, we collaborated closely with the structural engineer to streamline approvals and ensure seamless integration of structural components, contributing to efficiency and success of this advanced manufacturing facility.
