Walters worked closely with SKYGRiD Construction, responsible for building some of the Greater Toronto Area’s most distinctive landmark projects. The new LiUNA Local 183 Headquarters is located in a new urban precinct in Vaughan and consists of a six-storey tower connected to a three-storey wing that sits on an assembly hall. Designed by Diamond Schmitt Architects, the multi-use building is occupied by the Labourers’ International Union of North America (LiUNA) Local 183.
The key feature of the headquarters is a highly-transparent glazing system. In addition to the assembly hall, the building has offices, medical clinic facilities, a pharmacy, financial services, training classrooms, and recreational facilities for union members.
Walters was responsible for the supply & installation of 352 tons of structural steel. Also included in our scope were steel joists, deck and grating.
