TCC Harbourfront Centre is a key cultural organization on the waterfront located on Toronto’s docklands, between Queens Quay and John Quay. Within this massive facility is their newest performance space TCC Harbourfront Center stage, home to the area’s summer music program, which offers music every weekend from July to September.
Walters worked with longstanding client Tensile Integrity Inc. to supply and install canopy members enclosed with the engineered fabric membrane covers for this architectural amphitheatre.
Walters was responsible for the detailing, engineering, fabrication, and delivery of all materials on-site, including installation for the TCC Harbourfront Centre Stage Canopy. The welded lugs were surveyed and installed in 2021. Walters completed the final installation of the main structure in the early summer of 2022.
This project had a tight installation window between events while maintaining the site and event audience which included public safety. Walters coordinated the detailing, engineering, fabrication, and delivery of all on-site materials between events – in six days!
Walters completed a detailed and accurate survey to ensure the welded lugs were properly located. Walters also provided 3D models to prevent installation issues on site, aiding crews working to meet the scheduled dates. The project used pre-fabricated Diablo connections, and 8T of structural steel.
