Vaughan Metropolitan Centre
Vaughan Metropolitan Centre is a central business district in Vaughan, Ontario. The new city centre includes multi-use office towers, residences, open green space and urban squares, pedestrian shopping areas and restaurants.
The 220,000 sq. ft facility includes a 100,000 sq ft YMCA, a library and an 80,000 sq ft office tower whose primary tenant is PwC.

Walters was contracted to supply and install all structural steel including detailing, connection design, supply, fabrication and installation.
The project was awarded as they began to pour concrete, thereby creating immediate rush requirements for embeds. With very limited space on site, we had to be well-coordinated with just-in-time deliveries.
The project required numerous engineering workarounds to accommodate concrete and wood tolerances on glulam connections.
