Chris Van Houten

Director, Virtual Design and Construction

Chris Van Houten is passionate about his work. After graduating from Civil Engineering Technology, he started working for Walters in the Production Department. As Walters invested in new technology, Chris was tasked with helping setup and eventually moved to the Engineering Department where he started detailing some of the more complex jobs requiring extra coordination between the Engineering Office and Production. This collaboration within Walters has naturally led to collaboration with Design Team and General Contractors always pushing the technology to its limits.

Some of the more complex projects that Chris has managed as a Detailing Team Leader are the Lincoln Center of Performing Arts in New York, Canadian Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg and American Dream Meadowlands in New Jersey.

His current role as Director, Virtual Design and Construction ensures that his 25 years of experience at Walters is leveraged on all of Walters Projects from Bid to Construction.

Just when you think you have been presented with the most challenging hurdle of your career, a new challenge arises which continues to push our technology, collaboration and teamwork within our company, clients and industry partners.
