Wally has been Construction Manager since 1991 at Walters Inc. In this role as VP Field Services, Wally has overall responsibility for all field operations including field work estimating; planning of projects (liaison with engineering department for specific field installation requirements; scheduling; crane and equipment requirements, manpower, etc.); overseeing structural steel installations; co-ordinating with other contractors, project engineers and owners representatives; execution of all structural and miscellaneous steel installations including shutdowns on schedule and within budget; compliance with requirements of Occupational Health and Safety Act and associated Regulations; and all on-site administration and reporting.
Wally’s early memories are of learning to weld from his father on the shop floor as a young boy. He officially joined Walters in 1976 and learned the business through the positions of Construction Manager/Site Superintendent, Ironworker (Field), Fitter – Structural Steel/Plate Work (Shop), Truck driver, Shop Labourer/Welder.
Wally is known for his strong sense of integrity. While he is always focused on moving projects along according to deadlines, he is equally as focused on providing a safe work environment for all crews. Throughout his career, Wally has invested a great deal of time in people development. As a result of his efforts, Walters has an extremely strong team of dedicated Site Supervisors leading our projects.
