Walters Group Christmas Spirit: Giving Back to Our Community This Holiday Season

At Walters Group, the holiday season is a time to give back to the community, and this year, our team has truly embraced that spirit. Through a variety of charitable initiatives, Walters Group employees have made a meaningful impact on local organizations and families in need.

From supporting CityKidz with a toy and donation drive to helping collect winter clothing for Hamilton Back Clinic’s “Keep Hamilton Warm” campaign, Walters Group is committed to giving back to the communities we call home.

Supporting CityKidz

Every holiday season, Walters Group supports CityKidz, an organization dedicated to brightening the lives of children in need. Walters Group employees raised a total of 409 toys and substantial financial contributions from employees were collected which Walters matched. These contributions will help bring joy to children in Hamilton, especially those in the often-overlooked age group of 10-12.

These toys, ranging from board games to sports equipment, will ensure children in our community feel valued and loved this holiday season. Walters Group is proud to support CityKidz in their mission to provide hope and opportunity to kids in need.

“Keep Hamilton Warm” Clothing Drive

As part of our commitment to the local community Walters Group hosted a clothing drive in support of Hamilton Back Clinic’s “Keep Hamilton Warm” campaign, collecting a wide selection of winter clothing for those in need. This initiative, invited employees to donate coats, sweaters, snow pants, and other essential winter items.

The drive directly supports local families who are struggling to stay warm during the colder months, and our employees’ generosity will make a significant difference in their lives. Last year’s campaign had a notable impact, and this year’s drive continued that legacy of support.

Volunteering at Ronald McDonald House

Another significant part of our holiday giving was volunteering at Ronald McDonald House (RMHC). Through our Values in Action (ViA) partnership, Walters Group volunteers returned to RMHC to provide meals for 40 families who were staying at the house while their children received treatment at nearby hospitals.

RMHC offers families a place to stay, along with essential programs like nutritious meals and peer support, easing the burden during difficult times. Walters Group is honored to continue supporting RMHC and its mission to provide a “home away from home” for families in need.

Celebrating Together

 In addition to giving back to the community, Walters Group also took time to celebrate and give back to our employees this holiday season. Each employee received a generous gift basket from Denninger’s, filled with everything from charcuterie board essentials to chocolate-covered potato chips – a little something for everyone and their families to enjoy.

The celebrations continued at the Walters Christmas party, held at the Michelangelo Banquet Centre, where employees gathered to share in the festive spirit. The evening featured wonderful food, lively entertainment, and heartfelt speeches, creating a memorable night to close out the year. It was a perfect way to celebrate our shared successes and the the collective impact our efforts have made on our local communities.
