These certifications encompass both our plants and field operations. Walters is happy to provide our present and future clients with verifiable assurance that Health & Safety is an integral part of all of Walters operations.
“Safety is a team effort and part of everyone’s role at Walters. Maintaining these certifications is a testament to the efforts and contributions of all of our employees in making Walters a healthy and safe workplace. Protect Yourself, Protect Each Other!” said Evan Angi, Health & Safety Manager.
ISO 45001 specifies requirements for an occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system, and gives guidance for its use, to enable organizations to provide safe and healthy workplaces by preventing work-related injury and ill health, as well as by proactively improving its OH&S performance. ISO 45001 sets the minimum standard of practice to protect employees. It provides a framework to increase safety, reduce workplace risks and enhance health and well-being at work, enabling an organization to proactively improve its OH&S performance.
COR is a national accreditation standard that verifies full implementation of an employer’s Occupational Health and Safety Management System. To achieve COR certification in the province of Ontario, an organization must implement and maintain an occupational health and safety management system. As defined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), a health and safety management system means “a coordinated system of procedures, processes and other measures that is designed to be implemented by employers in order to promote continuous improvement in occupational health and safety”. The program provides employers with effective tools to develop implement and assess their health and safety management system.
