Walters Group Requalifies for Canada’s Best Managed Companies

Walters Group was honoured with the prestigious Canada’s Best Managed Companies designation. The 2017 Best Managed program recognizes the best-in-class of Canadian-owned and managed companies with revenues over $15 million demonstrating strategy, capability and commitment to achieve sustainable growth.

“It’s much more than just financial performance,” said Peter Brown, Partner, Deloitte and Co-Leader, Canada’s Best Managed Companies program. “The ingredients to success also include overall business performance and sustained growth. It takes dedication and commitment from the entire organization.”

The Hamilton-based, family owned and managed business has developed a reputation for taking on complex commercial and industrial steelwork projects throughout North America, often setting new standards for the industry. Some of their high-profile projects include The Canadian Museum for Human Rights, The Bow Hi-Rise, Halifax Shipyards, and feature staircases in high-end retailers including Louis Vuitton and Tommy Hilfiger. Their ability to provide complete services “in-house” across areas including construction engineering, detailing, project management, fabrication, finishing, delivery and erection is one of the keys that distinguish them in the marketplace.

Walters Group has extensive experience in all types of steelwork – structural steel, industrial retro-fit expansions, medium to heavy plate-work, miscellaneous steel, Architecturally Exposed Structural Steel, and high-rise solutions. Through their Feature Walters division, they also provide the commercial, residential and public art sectors with unique elements that define leading-edge architecture. Walters work has been recognized many times over in the form of highly coveted industry awards for excellence, innovation and safety.

“Our requalification on being named one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies for 2017 is truly an honour. We are proud that this designation continues to recognize our hard work in leadership, business performance and innovation,” said Peter Kranendonk, President, Walters Group. “We offer a tremendous thank you to our dedicated employees, loyal clients and our innovative construction partners – all who exemplify business excellence and success.”

2017 winners of the Canada’s Best Managed Companies award will be honoured at the annual Canada’s Best Managed Companies gala in Toronto on April 19, 2017. On the same date, the Best Managed symposium will address leading-edge business issues that are key to the success of today’s business leaders.

The Best Managed program is sponsored by Deloitte, CIBC, Canadian Business, Smith School of Business and MacKay CEO Forums.

About Canada’s Best Managed Companies
Canada’s Best Managed Companies continues to be the mark of excellence for Canadian-owned and managed companies with revenues over $15 million.
