Walters Selected for Local Structural Steel Project

February 7, 2018
Project News Walters Inc.

Walters has been selected by The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) to fabricate and install 280 tons of structural and miscellaneous steel for a local Hamilton, Ontario project. Our scope of work involves erecting the steel structures surrounding the B&W blast furnace gas-fired TSSG® boiler and auxiliary equipment on site.

Fabrication and install of several truss columns, two of which are 68’ tall, and the 17′ x 9′ x 56′ stair tower (which will be installed in one piece) was designed to minimize field work and maximize shop fabrication by taking advantage of the shop’s close proximity to the jobsite.

Steel erection is to commence later this Spring and is scheduled to be completed by Fall 2018. Coordinating our collaboration efforts with the boiler manufacturer and the other subtrades on a very tight construction site will be a welcomed challenge.

We look forward to delivering happiness to our valued clients.
