Walters Christmas Party 2019 was brimming with food, fun, family and friends who came together on December 12th to celebrate the season. Our family keeps growing – this year we had over 700 people attend our annual event! This is a special time for all of Walters family to celebrate the season with fellow employees, guests and retirees.
Peter Kranendonk, our C.E.O. gave us a warm welcome, thanked all the staff for their efforts over the past year, and led us in giving thanks before our meal.
Once again this year, two CityKidz alumni shared their own inspiring stories and achievements made possible through community support. Walters was proud to present a cheque in the amount of $3,740.00, which consisted of donations from our Christmas Party ‘Toonie Bin’ (and larger bills), with Walters matching the amount raised. It was heartwarming to see the generosity of those in attendance as they made their way to the CityKidz gift table with their toys and monetary donations.
“Our team worked hard this year – plenty of challenges but we are a team and we have a lot to be thankful for and to be proud of! Thank you to all!” shared Walter Koppelaar, Chairman.
Every one of Walters family also received a beautiful gift basket full of goodies from Denningers – which everyone looks forward to every year. This tradition began at the very beginning of Walters history, when the owner’s wives used to create baskets for the staff in their own kitchens.
