One Manhattan West has received three awards in the 2020 Professional Project Awards, a program hosted by the Architectural Engineering Institute (AEI) of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). The award program recognizes outstanding design by AIA New York members. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, LLP, a collective of architects, designers, engineers and planners were happy to receive this honour.
One Manhattan West was honoured in the architecture category, winning Best Overall Project, an Award of Excellence in Architectural Engineering Integration, and an Award of Merit in Structural Systems Design. The 70-story, 2.1-million-square-foot office tower in New York City, is located on a challenging site above the underground train tracks that lead into Pennsylvania Station.
Walters and Metropolitan Walters were responsible for the supply and installation of all structural steel for the project. The tower is a key part of the Manhattan West Development which consists of 5,400,000-square feet of mixed-use space. This includes two large office towers and one residential tower, along with a two acre public park that transects the site.
