AEP Mitchell Plant

This operating coal-fired generating station located in West Virginia is a fully integrated production loop. Burning the coal mined adjacent to the site allows electricity to be produced. The resulting flue gases are processed through the Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) system – the byproduct, pure gypsum, is sent via a conveyor to a nearby wallboard production facility. We supplied and installed the structural support systems for two FGD units.
