Cadillac Fairview along with its partner, the Ontario Pension Board, are the owners of the new 32-storey office tower at 16 York Street, located at the southwest corner of York Street and Bremner Boulevard.
Situated in one of downtown Toronto’s premier locations, 16 York’s direct link to the City’s 30 km underground pedestrian PATH network provides year-round access to a world of business, entertainment and lifestyle amenities. Designed to exceed LEED Platinum and International Well Institute guidelines for environmental and workplace excellence, the 16 York building is also comprised of 879,000 square feet of first class office space, in addition to three underground parking levels with 289 parking stalls and ground level retail space.
Walters was responsible for supply, detail, fabrication and erection of structural steel and the metal deck. The majority of our steel is located in levels P1, 1, 2, the Penthouse and the Canopy.
This project was located in a very tightly congested area of Toronto and required tight coordination with other trades. Also, the Level 1-2 Mezzanine needed to be erected without the use of tower cranes.
