Walters Inc. constructed BioAmber’s new succinic acid plant in Sarnia, ON. The new facility is located in a bio-industrial park owned by Lanxess. The facility has an initial capacity of approximately 30,000 metric tons of bio-based succinic acid, and BioAmber plans to further expand production by 20,000 metric tons in 2016, bringing total annual capacity to 50,000 metric tons.
We detailed, supplied, fabricated and erected the steel structure for this major chemical facility.
We were tasked with setting a large number of multi-storey tanks. These tanks came from multiple locations around the world, which created logistical challenges in ensuring that construction stayed on schedule.
