Friday Harbour Pavilion

The Friday Harbour Pavilion is a large 75 tall pavilion positioned at the end of the pier as part of the Friday Harbour development in Innisfil, Ontario. Supporting the network of cables and fabrics are six AESS pipes with tapered tops, and hidden beneath is a smart foundation system of steel that was only backfilled, rather than cast within concrete.

Our Role

Walters was responsible for the detailing, engineering, fabrication and installation of the steel and cables with fabric for the Friday Harbour Pavilion.

Overcoming Challenges

The Friday Harbour Pavilion project was on a fast-track schedule with foundations required in March 2021, and above-ground steel in April 2021. Being positioned at the end of a pier, surrounded by water, it required Walters style precision in installing.
