Redefining the Toronto Skyline

Walters has been selected to supply the engineering, detailing, fabrication and erection of approximately 15,000T of structural steel at CIBC Square’s main office tower in Toronto. Our scope includes the main tower, podium, an overbuild and a PATH bridge (Toronto’s downtown pedestrian walkway) to the Air Canada Centre.

Formerly known as Bay Park Centre, CIBC Square will feature two buildings and a one acre elevated park above the Union Station rail corridor. The first of the project’s two buildings, 81 Bay Street, is scheduled to be completed in 2020. It will feature 54 floors and 1.5 million square feet of state-of-the-art offices and collaborative spaces, with expansive views of Lake Ontario and Toronto’s skyline. This building, which will be engineered to LEED Platinum specifications, will be Walters fourth LEED certified office tower.

Walters is very proud to be part of such an intricate project that will undoubtedly change Toronto’s skyline.
