Take Our Kids to Work Day

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of having some of our employees’ children and guests participate in tours and information sessions during the annual Take Our Kids to Work Day™ program. Launched in 1994, this program encourages Grade Nine students to spend the day in the workplace of a parent, relative, friend or volunteer to experience and learn about the world of work.

Held every year on the first Wednesday of November, this program supports career exploration and career readiness among Canadian public school students. Experiencing a “day in the life” of a professional within our workplace allows students to explore our steel construction company that designs, fabricates, and constructs commercial and industrial projects throughout North America – and helps them make informed educational decisions about what career paths may interest them later in life.

Take Our Kids to Work Day™ is the most recognized career readiness program in Canada, with more than 250,000 students visiting workplaces every year and more than 75,000 organizations opening their doors to students every November! Walters is excited to have been a part of this program.
